We Need Volunteers!
We can’t make the magic happen without the generous help of our crew of volunteers. Please refer to our volunteer flyer for more information (shown below), and head over to helpourkidsinc.org/volunteer to express your interest in volunteering at this event!
We’re Dressed to the Nines
Fitting For The Future enables young men and women in high school and college who are in foster care in western Massachusetts to shop for special occasion clothing and accessories free of charge. The students are provided with the opportunity to choose those special outfits for a job interview, a dance, a sports banquet, graduation, or any other memorable occasion.
Each student is assigned a personal shopper to assist in the selection of the perfect outfits, shoes, jewelry, and accessories. Included in the day is a hair and make-up consultation, on-site alterations, and a professional portrait. Each student leaves the event with a swag bag full of goodies.
Our team of over 100 community volunteers ensures that each student receives personal attention and guidance.
How You Can Help
This special day is made possible by the generous donations of clothing, shoes, accessories, and financial contributions collected throughout the year, along with the incredible help from a massive crew of volunteers who donate their time and energy to help our youth look and feel incredible. Discover below how you can help!
Become a Volunteer
Our volunteers are the reason we are able to put on such a fabulous event each spring. We’re especially interested if you are skilled with hair, makeup, photography, sewing and basic alterations, but we have jobs and roles for people of all ability and interest levels. Check out our volunteer form to learn more.
Donate Clothes and Accessories
If you have new or gently worn clothes, shoes, or accessories, we are interested! Having a large selection of clothing, especially formalwear, helps ensure our youth are able to find the perfect outfit. We accept donations for all sizes. Click the button below to let us know if you have items you would like to donate.
Make a Secure Financial Donation
Hosting this event each year is expensive, including facility and equipment rental fees and insurance. We also purchase clothing and accessories to help ensure a generous selection for our youth to choose from. Click below to see how you can donate.
